The Way of the Swords is the title of an early draft of Howard’s unpublished historical adventure The Road of the Eagles. Glenn Lord published that early draft in the Donald M. Grant volume Road of Azrael. A final draft, now held by Cross Plains Public Library, was later found by L. Sprague de Camp, who rewrote it as the Conan story Conan, Man of Destiny; that adaptation was later published as The Road of the Eagles.
