Introduction to “The Hyborian Age” is a letter to Donald A. Wolheim from H. P. Lovecraft that accompanyed the manuscript of “The Hyborian Age.”
“The Hyborian Age” is cited as being reprinted from its original appearance in THE PHANTAGRAPH, as a three-part serial, February 1936, August 1936, and October-November 1936. However, this statement is in error. THE PHANTAGRAPH appearance is incomplete and only goes up to the time of Conan. This appearance of “The Hyborian Age” in this volume is complete.
“Hour of the Dragon” was first published in “Weird Tales”.
Cover artist credited on copyright page and rear jacket flap.
All of the Howard content was first published in “Weird Tales”, except “The Challenge from Beyond” which first appeared in “Fantasy Magazine”.
