Introduction
Hawks over Shem is L. Sprague de Camp’s transformation of Howard’s historical story Hawks over Egypt into a Conan story, chiefly by changing character and place names to fit the Conan setting. It has commonly been credited to both Howard and de Camp.
An original draft of Howard’s Hawks over Egypt is held at the Cross Plains Library.
