Introduction

Published in October 1972 by Meade and Penny Frierson, the fanzine HPL is a comprehensive tribute to H. P. Lovecraft, featuring essays, stories, and artwork celebrating his legacy. Of particular interest to Robert E. Howard fans is the inclusion of an originally untitled poem by Howard, here titled "Who Is Grandpa Theobold?"

Second Printing limited to 500 copies.
The Associate Editor for articles was Stuart Schiff.

Only one issue was ever published.
Two supplementary issues followed:
The HPL Supplement #1, released October 1972, and The HPL Supplement #2, released early 1973.
35 bound copies were numbered on a special page.

Price increased on this printing from $3 to $4.
