Only one issue was published. Wollheim and Shepherd planned to turn FANCIFUL TALES into a regular magazine, but they had no financial backing.
A facsimile reprint of FANCIFUL TALES was issued by Marc A. Michaud in 1977. There was also a replica made by Shellys Books in 2008.
