The Art of Bodo Schäfer

Bodo Schäfer has was born on the 8th of July, 1965 in Southern (then West-) Germany. He started to love, and shortly after that, spend way too much money on comics at the early age of 11. Soon he started to copy comic panels. Bodo has always had a special place in his heart for b&w illustrations and has never tired of looking at illustrations by St. John, Krenkel, Frazetta, Wrightson, Buscema, Barry Windsor-Smith, to name but a few.

He felt lucky when he was asked by Tom Kovacs if he would consider doing a few illustrations for some of his REH publishing activities he did in the 1980’s. Among other illustrations, he did all of those in Writer of the Dark, produced by Thomas Kovacs.
