The professional career of Greg Staples began in 1990 with work for Britain’s premier comic ‘2000AD’, debuting with the famous British character ‘Judge Dredd’. This character has been a recurring theme in Staples’ work ever since. His tenure at ‘2000AD’ opened doors to various projects, including concept design artwork for film, television, and games. Staples became known for his work on the popular card game ‘Magic: The Gathering’. Over the years, he has been a concept artist on several films, including ‘World War Z’, ‘Doomsday’, ‘Hellboy’, and ‘Dredd’.
In 2004, Staples co-founded ARK VFX, a visual effects company that won a Kerrang! award for producing the music video for Muse’s ‘Sing for Absolution’. His illustrated books, ‘Judge Dredd: Dark Justice’ and ‘The Horror Stories of Robert E. Howard‘, have received numerous accolades and continue to sell on Amazon. Staples was the lead concept artist for Rebellion in 2014 and then became the principal concept artist for the video game ‘Dead Island 2’ in 2016. His recent projects include the film poster for the 2021 movie ‘The Reckoning’, directed by ‘Game of Thrones’ director Neil Marshall, a set of Officially licensed prints of the Universal Monsters, and covers for the comic character ‘Tank Girl’.
