The Origins of Fantasy - Robert E. Howard
The archetypal fantasy hero, Conan the Barbarian tries to survive in a world where violence and sex are the rule. John Howe continues his American journey to Cross Plain, Texas, the village where its creator, Robert E. Howard, lived. He discovers a muscular hero who is much more complex than he thought.
The illustrator also met the artist Barry Windsor-Smith. Who, claiming to be Howard, was the first to transpose Conan into a comic book for Marvel.
